Drawings 2020
The first lockdown in the curse of the corona crisis came with drastic consequences for our society. Our lives changed overnight. We switched into a distance mode and experienced, what it means to be cut of our social environment. This was a burden in many ways, but at the same time this exeptional challenge also included opportunities. The quality of loneliness was made tangible. We had more time for ourselfs, we established new forms of communication in order to stay in touch with
others.
During this lockdown I was on my own. I started to draw portraits of people, who are important in my life. It was a way to be close to them, to touch them. Parts of the drawed faces I erased again, just like a mental image that dissolves again after a while.
