The currently challenging conditions in the field of art and culture can lead to an intensified questioning of one’s own position. In this project, a naïve desire for supposed relief/a stable existential foundation is expressed across media.

I lose myself in an absurd escapism and, drawing on the song Eisbär (Grauzone, 1981), sing myself into an apathetic trance in a mantra-like manner while staging myself as a wall image. The entire process resembles a desperate act driven by affect. A shoddily stretched frame, the imprint of a face pressing through the fabric appearing detached and ghostlike, the body exposed/vulnerable, a pedestal that is too narrow leading to an unstable stance, a questionable goal and an exhausting path toward it.

And yet, a will to act also becomes apparent, as well as an ability to improvise.
An attempt to remain situationally elastic meets self-irony and the simple necessity of doing.
